Children's Tales From Around The World

In this workshop, we will explore the concept of folktales and learn about the culture, history and heritage of different nations around the world. The story “Fattouh the Mangrove Demon” will be introduced as a tale from the UAE (pre-recorded) and will be followed by interactive activities related to the story that highlight values such as tolerance and empathy.

Robotics Workshop

What does mobility mean to you? In this robotics workshop, you will design and create a bot that will take you on a journey around the Expo 2020 pavilions, across the Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity districts. Based on STEAM practices and standards, the sessions will help you understand design and engineering concepts, build problem-solving skills, communicate and collaborate for local and global solutions while investigating system, models and so much more!

Qatt Asiri Art

Alqatt Alasiri, a traditionally female interior wall decoration technique, is the result of Saudi women’s love of music combined with their perception of culture and life. In this workshop, you will go on a journey to learn more about the history of this traditional art form, the nature of colors, the meaning of geometric patterns and how it is all preserved from one generation to the next.

Waste-free Ocean (Brought to you by the Portuguese Pavilion)

More than 4.8 million tons of plastic end up in the oceans every year and most of it is unaccounted for. Marine Litter Pollution is an urgent problem we are far from solving, but we can all help fight it by doing small actions every day. Learn more about this topic and how you can contribute to a healthy ocean. This workshop will take you on a journey that starts at the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciência Viva Science Centre in Lisbon, goes through Space and lands at the Portuguese Pavilion at Expo Dubai.

David from Florence to Dubai (Italy)

Interested in Art and Technology? Join David Summer Explorers for this digital workshop as they share the journey of bringing the most authentic replica ever made, Michelangelo’s David, from Florence to Dubai. You will also get some basic instructions on how to produce your own 3D digital reproduction. The 3D model you create will be collected and evaluated by a designated jury for a chance to be awarded with a special visit to the Italian Pavilion. Each part of the workshop will be delivered in a playful and interactive way using Q&A games, quizzes, videos, and photos.

Creatures Under the Ocean

Join Dubai-based Origami artist Afsheen as she introduces you to the beautiful world of Origami, the Japanese art of folding paper. Using a sheet of square paper, you will learn how to create a variety of origami shapes to use as the perfect backdrop for any event, be it a birthday party or graduation, or as the finishing touch to a unique and personalized gift.
