Renewable Energy - (Primary/Cycle 1)

Students explore the differences between fossil fuels and renewables and identify the many ways they use energy in their daily lives. They review UAE’s energy vision, before illustrating a map to show how UAE might harness renewables. Students identify how the Sustainability Pavilion is a more sustainable building using more sustainable energies, highlighting the many benefits for residents, UAE and the globe.

The Artificial Leaf - (Middle/Cycle 2)

Artificial leaves, once fully developed, will allow us to create and store hydrogen, just as real leaves help trees to create and store glucose. But how do they work and how might we use them? Students explore the science of photosynthesis and hydrogen production, before generating creative ideas for integrating electric leaves and other forms of biomimicry into the built environment of the city of the future.

Fuel of the Future - (Secondary/Cycle 3)

Students are introduced to hydrogen fuel and explore the benefits of energy derived from hydrogen. They then explore the changes that might be required in infrastructure and consumer behaviour to make hydrogen fuel feasible in our cities.
