Colorful Rainbow Galaxy with Millions of Stars

Journey to Space - (Primary/Cycle 1)

Students create a giant scale model of the solar system on paper and then find out how long their paper would need to be to include the nearest habitable planet or the Milky Way. They learn about the UAE Centennial Plan 2071 and design a travel poster to inspire visitors to a new country in space, before identifying what great aspects of life in UAE they would incorporate and make even better.

Our Nano Future - (Middle/Cycle 2)

Students discover some natural and man-made examples of nano-scale objects and materials and are reminded that everything is made of atoms. Inspired by Expo 2020’s theme of ‘Connecting minds, creating the future’, they generate ideas to solve one of six global challenges using a nanotechnology idea.

Quantum mechanics

Our Quantum World - (Secondary/Cycle 3)

Students consider how we are surrounded by (and full of) the amazing natural processes that bring the natural world to life. In groups, they review a simple explanation of how quantum physics may provide the answer to one of nature’s mysteries and which could inspire new technologies. Groups plan how they could bring this explanation to life in an interactive exhibit at Expo 2020 Dubai.
