Frequently Asked Questions

By when should we provide you with the details regarding the accompanying adults?

You must enter the accompanying adult details on the system at least two weeks before your arrival date.

To ensure your school students have an unforgettable experience at Expo 2020 Dubai from start to finish, we operationally require to know how many school students and accompanying adults are part of a single group. Knowing this information allows us to provide you with a bus pass as well as allocate the bus bay for your school group when they arrive at the Expo 2020 site. Therefore, for operational reasons, you cannot make one booking for the entire school; you can only make bookings per group, with each group consists of a minimum of 15 students and a maximum of 40 students.

Unfortunately, they will not be able to do so. To ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible, we have allocated a limited window for school buses and tours to start and end on schedule. Thus, your school visit counts only for the stated time.
We completely understand the issue you are facing. Our advice is that you reserve slots for your students based on the estimated student groups you would be having by the next academic year.

This being said, please do bear in mind the following:

• You must confirm your reservation 45 days before your first arrival date

• You must ensure we receive your payment 30 days before your first arrival date

Once Expo 2020 Dubai has successfully received your payment, tickets for that booking will be released to you.
To book tickets for your school students, you must be the assigned Expo Coordinator nominated by your school principal. If you are the assigned coordinator, please follow the below link and click on the ‘Sign Up’ button to register yourself and your school.

Once you are successfully registered, our team at the Expo School Programme will verify the details you have provided with your principal. Finally, once the details have been confirmed, you will receive a username and password that will allow you to log into the school’s ticketing system.
You can purchase your reserved tickets for the school-curated journeys to Expo 2020 Dubai through two payment methods:

1. Credit Card: You can use your school or personal credit card to pay for the tickets.

2. Bank Transfer: You can pay through a bank transfer. At the payment page, once you click on the Bank Transfer Payment method, you will need to click on the "generate invoice" button. An invoice will be emailed to your registered email address. Once you receive the invoice, kindly coordinate with the school accountant to ensure that the payment has been made and received by Expo 2020.
• For KG/FS to Grade 8/Year9 students: a lunch pack at Expo 2020 Dubai comes at the cost of AED 20. Each lunch pack consists of a vegetarian meal.

• For Grade 9/Year 10 to Grade 12/Year 13 students: an AED 20 lunch coupon will be distributed, which can be redeemed at selected outlets in Expo 2020 Dubai.

However, for students and accompanying adults who have dietary requirements or allergies, we highly advise that they bring their own lunch meals from home. If you choose to have lunch at the Expo 2020 site, please make sure that you select the lunch option during the booking process.

Accompanying adults are those responsible for the group of students arriving at the Expo 2020 site. Those adults should be nominated by the school, and they could be teachers, supervisors, admin staff members, parents, etc. Those adults should also be trusted by the school, whereby they assume full responsibility of taking care of the school student group they are accompanying.

Expo 2020 Dubai provides complimentary accompanying adult tickets depending on the category of students:

• KG/FS: For every 5 students: 1 accompanying adult ticket is free

• Grade 1 to Grade 4/Year 2 to Years 6: For every 10 students, 1 accompanying adult ticket is free

• Grade 5 to Grade 8/Year 7 to Year 9: For every 15 students, 1 accompanying adult ticket is free

• Grade 9 to Grade 12/Year 10 to Year 13: For every 15 students, 1 accompanying adult ticket is free

Under the National Policy for Empowering People with Special Needs, people with special needs or disabilities will be referred to as ‘People of Determination’ to recognise their achievements in different fields. As explained on the Abu Dhabi portal, the law defines a person with special needs as someone suffering from a temporary or permanent, full or partial deficiency or infirmity in his physical, sensory, mental, communication, educational or psychological abilities to the extent that limits his possibility of performing the ordinary requirements as people without special needs.

For school students, PoD tickets will be issued if they fall under the WAVE 3 bracket: Students who need proper care, require regular assessments by the doctor, psychologists, and students counsellors in the school.

Expo 2020 Dubai provides free tickets to the PoD students and their personal assistant(s).

We are happy to let you know that, on the 18th of September 2019, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) approved allowing all students, including students under the age of 12, to travel to the Expo 2020 Dubai, which is now considered one of the approved field trip destinations for school students.
